Like Mike advised above if you want a comprehensive utility to keep things running like the day you got your PC, you'll need to look elsewhere. It now serves primarily as an advertisement vehicle for Phoenix to hawk their security products. The old deep scans used to take 3-4 minutes.įorm my perspective Sys Mech is a shell of what it once was. Given the thorough scans of the past I have my doubts that anything is really done now other than a graphics splash that says everything is ok in less than thirty seconds. The scans now take a fraction of the time they used to and everything is always "good" with the exception of junk files that accumulate regardless. That's when I knew Sys Mech had changed forever. Like so many scam utilities it used the "to fix this" or "to get protected" you can upgrade to blah blah. I clicked on a couple of the new features and it did it's thing but stopped short of delivering the "implied" results. Since I was a Sys Mech Premium subscriber I thought well it's a nice bonus. The first thing I noticed was the new "security" products and services spam that dominated the interface. You could tell the guys/gals that developed this were "nerds" and loved what they did and it showed in aces. It was a wonderful product and I happily paid the sub fee.

Follow on scans were much shorter and continued to tweak this or that. Everything was better - internet connection speed, hard disk access, just to name a couple. The difference was om on button to ready to go desk top it took about 15 seconds. I rebooted my computer (for some things you had to back then). When I clicked on the fix button that also took quite a while to finish. The first scan took a long time and when done the results were mind numbing.literally hundreds of issues (some trivial of course but some big ones too.) Prior to my first scan I ran my go to 3 or 4 utilities to see what if anything Sys Mech might pick up that they didn't. I had tried many of the programs out there and while they worked to an extent, none of them did the CAT scan that Sys Mech did. When Sys Mech came out there was nothing else close to it on the market.

Something needs to be said about the sad, sad decline of the product.

Overall Opinion: I normally don't post reviews but as a long time System Mechanic subber I had to once I saw Mike's opinion above.
